5 Types of Tunisian Men on Dating Apps (Covid Edition)

Dating has never been easy in Tunisia (well at least from my personal experience) and things got a bit even more complicated now that the whole world is facing the danger of a deadly virus that some Tunisian men and women seem to completely ignore.

I thought about writing this article after a long video chat with a good friend of mine who was recommending yet another online dating application for me try.

I made it clear to her that I’m done for the time being and I thought it would be fun to share with you some interesting profiles of Tunisian men that I or some of my close and single female friends of mine interacted with over the course of the past 6 months, which by the way seems like ages ago.

Please do not take my list below too seriously. I just thought I would spare y’all some of the trouble and I hope you get a laugh out of this.

#1. COVID is a Joke Type

This would be a Tunisian man, well in the middle of his thirties who upon matching with, would ask you to meet up: like “hey girl, wanna meet”? This is the exact type who would lose it when you mention you have concerns about getting infected and would like to chat or video call until you feel comfortable.

You will also occasionally hear him joke about Tunisian having super immunity because we have been eating Kafteji, Lablebi and Harissa for ages.

My advice is to get as far from this dude or anyone like him as possible.

#2. I’m Bored But Not Really Looking for a Relationship

This would be the type of guys who are usually visiting Tunisia for a short period but got stuck in here due to closure of airports and thought it would be fun to engage in conversations but no intention of pursuing the relationship because they are eventually leaving the country.

Those are the same one who would tell you they are on dating websites because they are stuck at home with nothing else to do.

#3. Gaslighter Tunisian

This would be the worse of them all in my opinion. For those of you who do not understand the meaning of gaslightening, it basically means to manipulate (someone) by psychological means into questioning their own sanity.

This would be the dude who is telling you stories and expects you to believe the pure BS or would get hurt and upset who you call him on his shit. Please watch out of those guys and never question your worth or sanity in a relationship.

#4. The “Ghoster”

This would be the guy who would engage you in a conversation like a decent human being and would stop talking to you for few days and all of the sudden he just texts you out of nowhere.

This would be the same type who when you message him, he would be too busy to respond but he has plenty of time to upload new photos to the application and carefully caption each and everyone of them.

My advice here would be: remember that you should never beg for someone’s time or try to convince them to chose you. The world is too big, and you have too much to offer

#5. “Mom is Gonna Choose my Wife “ Type of Men

This dear ladies would be the dude who would talk to you, be nice and thoughtful but when things start getting serious he would start becoming more and more concerned about your differences.

He would start talking about the need to be patient with his mom who was set to chose him a wife. Fortunately, I have not been there but a good friend did and it was devastating for her to know this well into the relationship.

#6. Very early in the relationship: “I’m love with you. I have an emergency, send me money. Pleeaase.” Followed by a few dozen heart filled emojis.

This man‘s sole purpose is to gain the woman’s trust and milk her for cash and gifts. Some of these type even go as far as marriage in order to secure residency in a western country. AKA “Tunisian Love Rat”.

They love you and they can’t get enough of you.
They act like they have been in your life forever.
They take up all your free time, and then some.
They manipulate you and brainwash you.
That’s the type of Tunisian Love Rat scammer I had!

Tunisian rats. That's all they are RATS waiting to come out of the hole to see what they can eat. Malparidos de mierda. Karma will get them back that's for sure.

The number 1 Tunisian man writing to any and all foreign women! These are the losers of Tunisia. Tunisian women don’t want them. They are sooooooo charming and have such a way with words. They will break your heart, family, bank account, anything which you give them access to! They are dangerous and are psychopaths…..no human feelings or compassions at all!

I hear so many stories about dating apps. The scammers, the men who are just ‘strange’, and the catfishers. It can be scary.
