Tunisia-Collision between ambulance – truck leaves one dead and several injured​

A vehicle carrying hemodialysis patients and a truck crashed on Saturday, November 7, on the road joining the delegations of Saida and Regueb (governorate of Sidi Bouzid).


The traffic accident resulted in the death of an 80-year-old man and three other injuries who were all transferred to Regueb hospital first, then Sidi Bouzid regional hospital to receive the necessary care.

 

Tunisia-Car accident claims life of young man at Sousse-Tunis highway​

A man born in 1992 passed away and his escort was injured in a car accident at the level of Sousse-Tunis highway, a source from traffic wardens told Tunisie Numérique correspondent. The injured was transported to the hospital for treatment.


The causes of the accident are due to excessive speed, which led to driver losing control, according to the same source.

This Saturday, November 14, we came near a disaster, when a collective taxi plunged into a gaping hole left by SONEDE following an intervention by Diar Ben Mahmoud Al Agba, in the governorate of Tunis, Mosaique FM reportes.

In a statement to the radio, the spokesperson for the Directorate General of Civil Protection, Colonel Moez Triaa stated that the 9 injured , including the driver, were transported to Charles Nicolle and Rabta hospital, emphasising that their injury is not severe .

A traffic accident resulted in six injuries in Thala, Kasserine, prompting their transportation to the hospital for treatment.

According to preliminary data, the accident happened when a truck collided with a car, resulting in injuring six people who sustained minor wounds.

Nine people were wounded in a traffic accident on Wednesday in Béja, a source from the regional hospital told Tunisie Numérique.
The accident happened after a “Louage” taxi overturned on the Tunis – Béja highway, near Oued Zarga, wounding 9 passengers, including 5 who sustained injuries of various degrees.
The wounded were removed to Beja regional hospital for treatment, the same source said.

Tunisia [Video]: Commemoration of the first anniversary of Amdoun tragedy accident​

The parents of the victims of the bus crash in Amdoun and the civil society associations commemorated today the first anniversary of the tragic accident.

It is evoked that a year ago, a bus belonging to a travel agency organized an excursion to Tabarka but the vehicle plunged into a ravine in Amdoun, killing 31 people and injuring several others.

Since then, the site has been improved and a concrete barrier has been constructed along the road which overlooks a ravine.

This demonstration forms an act of solidarity with the victims and the wounded and intends to sensitize the government and the public opinion on the victims of the roads in order to stop the occurrence of such accidents.

This is an action directed at encouraging the government to observe roads, drivers and users who do not respect the driving rules as well as to operate to improve the condition of the roads to make them safer.

A three-year-old child passed away after being run over by a car at the level of Nakhil street Sousse, the local mayor told Mosaique FM.


The victim was hit when he was with his parents while they were leaving a restaurant on the aforementioned road. Bystanders caught the driver when he attempted to escape.


Tension rose among residents after the accident who closed the road . The road was reopened after negotiations with local authorities who vowed to place speed reducers.

Residents of Ain Snoussi from Amdoun delegation where the dramatic bus wreck took place, stated that a year later after the tragedy nothing has changed and the threat is still there.

Apart from a concrete wall constructed to border the road viewing the ravine at the bend, nothing has been done, residents protest.

Speaking to Tunisie Numérique, They believe that this wall cannot stop the downfall of even a small car at the expense of a large truck.

Residents mourn that they are not consulted by officials who arrive in the region because they are the ones who know the truth of the problem and the solutions.

They suggest the construction of a bridge that will span the ravine and prevent accidents and limit deaths.

Tunisia-An injured Amdoun tragedy victim of a medical malpractice :eek:

The president of the Tunis association for road safety Bilel Lounifi announced on Tuesday, December 1, 2020, that one of the wounded in the Amdoun tragedy was the victim of medical malpractice which he reported as dangerous.

Speaking to Mosaique FM, Lounifi said the wounded man underwent surgery at Kassab Hospital on his healthy leg instead of the injured one.

Meanwhile, he added that he was sutured and required to return to the hospital after the health crisis.
