According to a statement from the British Ministry of Defence, a single shot fired by a British soldier aboard a helicopter flying over the Gulf of Oman successfully damaged the engine of a drug trafficker’s boat in the middle of the Gulf.

This operation is described as “one of the most spectacular drug interdictions the Royal Navy has ever been involved in in the Middle East.”

The same source reported that more than 1.5 tons of drugs—heroin, methamphetamine, and cannabis—were seized, with a total value exceeding 40 million euros (35 million pounds).

The Ministry also emphasized in the statement, “This is the first time that snipers have been called upon to use non-lethal force to neutralize a suspect boat in the Gulf region.”

For his part, Defence Minister Alistair Carns praised the achievement, stating: “Our Royal Navy and Royal Marines have dismantled a major criminal operation, keeping drugs off our streets and away from our children.”

Britain's About to Face the Next Brexit Hammer

A Different Bias
11 Feb 2026

There is a sense in which people view the hard brexit as done and now it's time to take the edges off it and get our trade back to a more sensible level.

But this ignores the fact that the EU are constantly changing the rules for their market, and every change in rules means more trade friction for the UK.

We will never stabilise our trade until we are back in the EU.

Brexit: Were there ANY benefits to the UK leaving the EU?

Ten years ago, the United Kingdom voted to leave the European Union in a landmark referendum that reshaped the country's political and economic landscape.

A decade on, the pros and cons of Brexit are still being counted both in the UK and the EU, which lost one of its biggest and most "influential" members.

A YouGov survey found that 57% of Britons now believe Brexit was a mistake, while a separate Ipsos poll showed that 52% support rejoining the European Union.

Supporters of Brexit argued that leaving the bloc would usher in a new era of stronger border control, faster economic growth and greater national sovereignty, freeing Britain from regulations set in Brussels.

But ten years on and sluggish economic growth and rising immigration has left many of the British public disappointed and the UK government rebuilding ties with the European Union.

So, what has been the true impact of the most controversial referendum in modern British history?
