Make sure you find a Tunisian Lawyer you can trust

I just stumbled upon this thread, and must add to it. I’m no lawyer, so I’m not giving any legal advice, but I did do a lot of research. My rat wanted me to buy a hotel on Djerba. As a non Muslim, foreign woman, I would own NOTHING even if it was totally bought with my money. You can take matters to court. Who do you think the Judge will rule for? The non Muslim foreign woman or the macho Tunisian, good little Muslim man???? I rest my case! Bottom line, NEVER buy land, an apartment, a business, or anything else in Tunisia. You can kiss your money good bye....even cars and furniture....say bye bye....while your sweetie and his wifey cousin enjoy your hard earned money! The laws are not anything like western countries. I’ve seen horror stories of women who have lost everything to these monsters! Don’t do it and NEVER ever wire any cash or send any presents! You ARE being conned! If you are dating one of these creeps, tell him a firm no when he asks for his next cash, phone, shoes, or clothes!!! Try it! You will see the REAL him. He will do one of the following: He will get mad. He will give you the silent treatment. He will start the pity me talk! He will beg, plead, ask why you don’t love him anymore! Give heartwarming stories (all lies)....my mother will die if you don’t help us; don’t you care about my sister....she thinks of you as her sister too! We love you as family and families help each other! Ohhhh the bullshit out of their mouths! Do NOT fall for any of it! It is only to get you and YOUR money to part ways....and go into his pocket!
